UNFINISHED BUSINESS
' Council Membership: The Council decided to ask Nancy Westergaard
to serve as volunteer staff rather than as a board member for the
'remainder of the year. Carolyn will contact Nancy. Mary submitted
a list of Council vacancies to Linda Salas in City Hall.
NEW BUSINESS
Building Maintenance: The men's bathroom is no longer available
for use due to leaking. John Hansen will talk to city maintenance
personnel about both this and a problem with plumbing and mud in
' the basement.
Lighting: Rick Hays presented information regarding lighting
options for the 1992 SCFD grants for lighting purchases. He and
John Hansen will meet to create a proposal to present to both the
LAHC and the CCCT.
Communication: Meeting minutes will be distributed to the other
groups that use the building. The LAHC and the CCCT will each
select a member to serve as liaison with the other group, with the
goal of creating better communication.
' COMMENTS
The. CCCT members who were present at the meeting expressed a
feeling of being second-class citizens in the general policies and
scheduling of the building. They would like the building contract
to be between the City and the LAHC, with the LAHC functioning as
an overseeing agency that would ensure that all local arts groups
have equal access and decision-making power regarding the building.
There was much heated discussion during this meeting. However, the
general consensus was that the LAHC and the CCCT need to leave
grievances and personal accusations in the past and move forward.
' The establishment of the Advisory Board, the selection of official
liaisons between the groups, and a written scheduling policy are
all steps toward improving communication and avoiding misunder-
standings.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 11: 30 P.M.
1
1
1
