I
ILO event. John Hansen completed the Music in the Park reporting form.
programing will be considered at a an additional meeting on Sunday,
IINovember 24. .
Scheduling: The proposed scheduling plan will be included in the
I minutes with the following additions. The Advisory Board should
establish some general guidelines regarding which events should
have precedence in the event of conflicts. Also, the City should
produce a monthly calendar of scheduled events, with the under-
standing that it would be used as a reference point and that events
still must be scheduled through the City since the calendar will
change. This scheduling plan will be considered again in January
Iafter the Advisory Board has a chance to review it.
building Rental: The LAHC agreed with a proposal from Steve
11 Baysinger to renegotiate the fee structure for the rental of the
building, with the possibility of proceeds being funnelled to the
Building Fund. The LAHC approved the proposal to arrange for
someone to open the building for non-arts events rather than
I handing out keys to the building. This would provide more security
for the building.
IREPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES
Recreation Center Art: Joanne reported that three finalists were
bselected to give presentations but that only two chose to do so.
After the presentations, George Peters was selected as the artist
for the Recreation Center project. He will create a hanging work
of fiberglass mesh and light screen for $3,500. The work will not
I be finished in 1991 so the SCFD money will be paid as an advance
with $2,500 upon completion. Joanne will contact Nancy about final
expenses and will notify the Louisville Times about the artwork
I selection. Steve Baysinger gave the Council the requisition form
for the funding from the City. John Hansen will contact the City
about he proper procedure to carry over the funds to 1992. Joanne
' will contact the CCAH to obtain approval to carry the funds over
into 1992.
Young Artists Exhibit,: John Hansen notified the art teachers of
' the event and the schedule. He distributed information to the
various schools to publish in their newsletters. Mary sent a press
release to the local papers. Barbara McKee will make invitations
I to the opening. John will contact members of the LAA and parents
of participating "young artists" to sit the show. Nancy is in
charge of the opening reception.
Ithanksgiving Piano Recital,: The recital ran smoothly with about
70 people in the building. The piano teachers expressed apprecia-
tion for the organization of the recital by the LAHC. Mary
Isubmitted a report for use in future planning of a similar event.
I
