Piano Recital: The students of Dennis Morehouse presented a recital in the building on
December 14. Mr. Morehouse expressed appreciation for the use of the building and reported
that the facility worked well for the event. The building was left in excellent condition after
the recital.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
AHAB Meeting: Neither John Hansen nor Joanne attended the meeting about a community
arts survey.
Purchases with remaining grant money: After a recess, the LAHC listed possible purchases
and payments to make before the end of the year. These include the telephone bill, rolls of
' stamps, cassette tapes to record meetings, a box to store the cassettes, reserved money for
piano tuning, an answering machine, an inexpensive 35mm camera to document events, black
and white film, a calendar to show events for the year, thank-you notes, dishcloths, and
' payment for a coffee machine. After paying the printing and telephone bill, Carolyn and
Mary were given the authority to prioritize these items and proceed with the purchases. John
will shop for the camera and the answering machine if money is available. Carolyn will check
' on the tax number to allow us to make purchases without paying tax.
NEW BUSINESS
Rick Hays, a board member of the CCCT, explained the Explorer post that the CCCT is
sponsoring. The Explorer program is a part of the Boy Scout organization which encourages
high school students to explore a specific area of interest, in this case the performing arts.
The first meetings will involve specific workshops, from which point the group will be expected
to create its own goals and programs. The first meeting of the group was held with about
15 to 20 interested participants.
COMMENTS
Carolyn expressed appreciation for the work of Mary O'Brien during her time on the Council.
The Council voted to recess briefly before discussing purchases to be made in 1991 (listed
above under unfinished business.)
' ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 11:00 P.M.
1
I
1
