Business Retention & Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 3, 2014 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />Marriott Courtyard — DeJong met with the Director of Sales. He asked how they are strategizing <br />regarding future hotel in Superior Town Center. The Director acknowledged it will have some <br />impact but not a great effect on the University of Colorado business. The Director said 80% of <br />their occupancy is business related. <br />WARM CALLING LIST DISCUSSION: <br />Councilmember Jasiak suggested visiting Back to Basics Kitchens. Jasiak would like to see a <br />salad oriented restaurant in town. <br />Commissioner Angell would like to see a furniture store and jewelry store in Louisville <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIEFING: <br />The former Sam's Club is being used, temporarily, by Ascent Church on a month to month basis. <br />DeJong reported he is requesting funding to have one more 12' patio fabricated to <br />accommodate all requests. <br />DeJong has submitted a brochure to be included with other Urban Renewal brochures to the <br />North Metro Chamber of Commerce. <br />DeJong is preparing to book a trip to the Las Vegas ICSC conference in May. Attending with <br />DeJong will be Mayor Muckle and City Manager Fleming. <br />COMMENTS: <br />DeJong will use Xceligent to provide a map of vacancies. <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING: <br />• Invite the new Cultural Arts and Special Events Coordinator to a meeting <br />• Invite CBRE representative <br />• Map of retail vacancies <br />ADJOURN — The meeting adjourned at 9:14 am <br />4 <br />
