It was the MTDC proposal and we discussed
airport access."
Mayor Fauson stated, "I have no problem
with the first resolution except the second
part. I would like to see that redrafted
stating that we have nothing to hide from
the citizens of this city. That we would
like to be straight forward with the
people. We will always abide by state
statutes."
Williams was asked by Carnival if the
second paragraph of this resolution just
clarifies the ordinance that is in place
right now as far as open government?
Williams stated that he feels it adds to
it. It just takes a stronger stand that
this council is committed to that.
Carnival then said, "If that is the case,
then I would go along with Mr . Sackett that
we sit down and draft it more appropriately
than just a single councilman dealing with
a resolution. I'm sure that she has ever
right to do it, but I think it should be
something that we should look at (the
existing ordinance), and if it needs to be
clarified by a second paragraph such as
the one that's presented here tonight, I'm
all in favor of it. But not at tonight's
meeting."
Carnival motioned to remain in the segment.
Can we have Roll Call please . By Roll Call
Vote the motion passed 4-2.
W-470 PUBLIC HEARING Mayor Havorka, Westminster, explained why
they have remained a member in the W-470
Authority. One is that they have a very
strong feeling of the regionalism that is
necessary for the Metro area of Denver.
They are members of the Authority although
Westminster does not stand to gain any
direct benefit from annexations nor any
commercial development from the airport.
They feel that the airport was a very
important development to the Denver area,
henK~e they have continued to be members of
the Authority.
8
