established to review the water bills and
have they done that?
Davidson stated the committee was established
to establish water policy not to regulate the
water attorney. We may want to take issue up
like that but the intended purpose was to
look at the water acquisition in the city.
Sackett felt this needed a lot of study and I
think that we need more experience on this
issue and I was hoping this committee could
evaluate the skill level of our water
attorney and evaluate due process. If we are
paying to much for our water attorney or if
our attorney is no good then we need to
consider that.
Howard asked if we know what current water
cases we are involved in at this time?
Williams stated no he does not know, he has
not involved himself in all of the water
cases that we are in.
Sackett felt the committee should do an in
depth study on this and give the council a
recommendation.
Mayor Fauson stated the committee was to
establish water policy, but to do justice to
this I think we should sit down and visit
with Mr. Williamson and get this information
from him about his fees.
Szymanski stated she would like to hear Mr.
Williamson's answers to these bills.
Carnival stated that water is the life line
to this committee and has been that forever.
Mr. Williamson has been with us for around 14
or 15 years and I think to just say because
he spent $19,000 we need to get rid of him is
wrong. I think we need to give him the
opportunity to come in and sit down with us
and discuss why we spend $20,000. I think
Mr. Williamson has done a fine jab for us and
I would be against doing anything this
evening until we talk to Mr. Williamson.
Mayor Fauson stated that down through the
years Mr. Williamson has done a good job in
acquiring water rights for the city and felt
we should listen to what he has to say.
14
