help the environment.
At this time each one of the council members
pledged what they would do to also help the
environment.
PRESENTATION - BOULDER COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT - BOULDER COUNTY
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM
Torn Douville from Boulder County Health
Department made a brief presentation to
council about Enpro Consulting Group. The
Enpro Consulting Group is asking for support
the concept by the council. Douville asked
that the council support of the concept and
willing to discuss financial arrangements as
we keep the project moving.
Council felt they should look into funding
methods for the project.
Sackett moved and Mayor Fauson seconded, to
support the concept and to present to the
people the possibility of establishing a
permanent center for household hazardous
waste through a centralized collection system
and the satellite center for the eastern
Boulder County. Motion passed
PRESENTATION - ALFIE PENA - RESIDENTS REQUEST FOR ACQUISITION OF
PROPERTY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CITY PARK
Alfie Pena, 479 Grouse Court, made a
presentation to council regarding the
acquisition of the land across the street
from his property. He and the neighborhood
would like to see this property purchased by
the city and turned into a park for the area.
The city is in need of a large park for the
city, not just small parks among the
subdivisions. A petition has been signed by
people in wards I, II and III. We do realize
that this area is to be developed in the near
future and we do understand that this
property has been planned for approximately 8
acres of residential and 7 acres of retail-
office development. All the people that have
signed this petition are very much against.
retail-office center at this location. We
feel that with the recreation center being
built this park would be ideal for the area.
We would like to see tennis courts, walk/bike
paths, sun shelter, children's playground,
picnic facilities, large open grass area,
softball field without lights and restroom
