the survey that Scripps Howard would be doing and
that was not reflected in the minutes. The major
issues that. Council wants to know from the purvey
are as follows: Scripps Howard would do a survey
and the suz-vey would ask cable users if they had
their choice would they like to have the ability
to use their cable ready TV, their own VCR and
their own ;remote or would they like to have the
ability to have pay-for-view. If most of the
people would rather have, in Greg Griffin's mind,
the oId sy~;tem where they can use all of their in
house capability but they can't have pay-for-view
then how he is going to implement a system that
will allow this and how he will accomplish that
and address this in December.
Davidson: There is one further option that is state of the
art equipment from General Instrument that would
allow you 'to do both and that is another issue.
Also to tell us what state of the art is.
Brand: Also he needs to tell the people if the state of
the art is going to cost them more.
Howard moved to amend the Minutes as stated, seconded by Sackett.
All in favor.
FUNDING COUNCIL CONTINGENCY - TRANSPORTATION COALITION - AIRPORT
ACCESS TRAFFIC MODELING
Hornbostel: Needed to know why the finance committee denied
this request so she could report back to the
committee.
Brand: One reason was that there were five different
approaches that were going to be researched. We
thought it was an academic exercise. By the time
all the re~;earch had been done the legislature may
have already appropriated money for a completely
different x-oute.
Davidson: Also do we feel that we should do the study at all
and did noi: feel it was an airport access study.
Also the funding is inappropriate and was not
fairly distributed over cities by population.
Carnival moved not to fund the Airport Access, seconded by
Hornbostel. Motion Passed.
CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
NONE
11
