want to mi:;interpret something in that matter and
say it's a surprise, I guess you' 11 get a lot of
surprises.
Brand: I feel bad about this whole situation because I
think it has been misinterpreted in the newspaper.
I sent that: letter to all of you to give you some
background on my meetings with Superior. I became
aware of the letter because the Town Manager of
Superior showed it to me. She took it out of her
file, a file on water, sewer and all the other
things that. are mentioned in that. She showed me
what had been discussed at several meetings among
members of Superior Council and Louisville Council
with regard to distribution lines. I read it in
her office and then I came back and looked in our
Superior files and there was a copy of it. So to
help you understand what I was talking about with
regard to the distribution lines, I sent you a
copy of the letter that was in our files. In the
files there are all kinds of letters that show the
process, or lack of process sometimes, when
different communities are trying to work out
problems tYiat are causing conflict. I felt very
bad when I saw the headline story in the
Louisville Times the next week. I was trying to
be open and share information, help people
understand. This depressed me for an entire day.
I didn't send this information to you to use the
information against each other.
Howard: I have nothing to say about this issue between the
Mayor and Councilman Davidson. I do have strong
feelings ak~out ensuring that I get as much of the
story as it is humanly possible so that I can make
my decisions.
Brand: You will always get information from me.
Mayor Fauson: If you went through the records which are public
and I'm sure you'll find a lot of correspondence
between myself and ather entities. We have tried
over the years to get along with our neighbors.
This Council, the so called new Council, has made
the statements that they are the only ones that
are trying to get along with our neighbors. We
have tried for years to get along with our
neighbors. There is nothing being hidden from
this Council. The City Administrator has gone back
through the records when an issue is brought up
and has tried to update the Council on each item
and I'm sure she will continue to do that.
Sackett: There are occasions when the previous Council.
13
