REGULAR BUSINESS <br />PROCLAMATION - SQUARE DANCE MONTH <br />Mayor Fauson declared the Month of September 1990 to be "SQUARE <br />DANCE MONTH." <br />DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - CHANGE NOVEMBER 6, 1990, CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING - GENERAL ELECTIOP[ <br />Brand: Due to the fact that Council's first meeting in <br />November will fall on the same day as the General <br />Election, :staff is recommending that the date of <br />the Council meeting be changed to Thursday, <br />November 8th. (Municipal Court has arraignments <br />on Monday, November 5, and the City Administrator, <br />Community Services Director and Library Director <br />have a prior commitment for Wednesday, November <br />7.) <br />It was suggested by Council to see if there was enough room in <br />the conference room for the election to be held. <br />APPROVAL OF CITY SPONSORSI[IP - UNITED NATIONS DAY, 1990 - BAHA'IS <br />Brand: Martin McCloskey, Corresponding Secretary for the <br />Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of <br />Louisville, Colorado is requesting the City of <br />LouisvillE~ help support and sponsor United <br />Nations' Day. The City is being asked to proclaim <br />October 24th as U.N. Day in Louisville at the <br />October 16th City Council meeting. The city is <br />being asked if we would print 1,000 copies of the <br />flyer. <br />Sackett moved to provide the proclamation but not to print the <br />flyers, seconded by Carnival. By Roll Call Vote Motion Passed <br />5-2, with Mayor Fauson and Szymanski voting no. <br />APPOINTMENTS - LOUISVILLE MASTER PARK PLAN TASK FORCE <br />Brand: It was necessary for us to re-advertise for <br />volunteers for the Parks Master Plan Task Force. <br />From our first advertisement we received one <br />application. You will no doubt notice that the <br />applicants are not equally distributed across the <br />three wards. Your original desire was to have <br />each of you appoint one person from his or her <br />ward, the Mayor appointing from the city at large. <br />There was one application that we did receive <br />today, if you would like to consider it. There <br />were four applications from Ward 2, three <br />applications from Ward 1 and one application from <br />Ward 3. <br />2 <br />
