Davidson: Carnival: Szymanski: Did not feel that there was fair representation from the Wards. I think that within Ward 3 it would not be difficult to come up a second person. Most of the task force that we would put together, I would hope, in Ward 1, 2 or 3, would represent what is beast for the city. With the additional applicant that we had tonight we have nine people and if each. of us appointed one there would be two people left out. Why couldn't we just appoint the nine peoples that submitted applications. I do not feel that we should accept the application that we received tonight. Mayor Fauson: Concurred with Carnival. I feel that these applicants have the city at heart and I feel they would all d.o a good job. Mayor Fauson moved to appi:ove the applicants that we do have and have the representatives from Ward 3 (Sackett and Davidson) try to find someone else that might be interested, seconded by Davidson. Discussion: Carnival: Since we ar-e not going with our cut off date then what happens to the gentlemen that applied this evening? I would be in favor of that motion if we would accept this individual. Howard: This is an advisory group and generally they try to work together and will give a view of the group. I believe it is difficult for a group of people to not look out for their area. I feel that each of the Wards should have equal representation. Brand: Felt that all of the applicants would be working for the good of the city. After a lengthy discussion Mayor Fauson withdrew his motion and Davidson withdrew his second. Mayor Fauson restated his mation, we go ahead and advertise one more time and have a cut off date and stick to our original plan with equal representation and the applicants that we do have be considered along with the late applicant, seconded by Davidson.
