CONSENT CALENDAR CONT.: <br />REGULAR BUSINESS: <br />PROCLAMATION - NATIONAL <br />Information Only - Sales Tax Capital Construction <br />Budget <br />Approval of Computer Equipment & Software Purchase <br />Liability & Auto Insurance <br />Approval of Construction Services Budget - <br />City Facilities <br />Approval of 3.2~ Beer License Renewal - Barn Store <br />Information Only - Renewal of City's Property, <br />LIBRARY WEEK Mayor Fauson declared April 9-15 as National <br />Library Week in Louisville and encouraged <br />residents to seek the help of their public library <br />for their information needs. Nelda Mohr, Library <br />Director, presented Council with special Library <br />Cards. <br />PROCLAMATION - NATIONAL <br />ARBOR DAY Mayor Fauson declared April 22 as Arbor Day in the <br />City of Louisville recognizing that Louisville has <br />been recognized as Tree City USA by the National <br />Arbor Day Foundation. The Mayor invited everyone <br />to participate in the Arbor Day activities at Joe <br />Carnival Park at 10:00 a.m. on April 22nd. <br />RESOLUTION #10, SERIES 1989 - ARTS AND HUMANITIES <br />:OUNCIL Read by title only, Resolution #10, Series 1989 <br />recognizes the need for a Louisville Arts and <br />Humanities Council. <br />Stahl explained that On November 8, 1988, voters <br />passed a "cultural tax" effective January 1, 1989 <br />that will provide funding for arts and natural <br />sciences activities, and Boulder County could <br />recognized as much as $130,000 for local arts and <br />promotion. The Boulder County Commissioners will <br />appoint a nine-member committee on April 6th to <br />decide who many benefit from the new tax. <br />Carolyn Markham attended the Commissioners meeting <br />and requested appointment to the County Cultural <br />Advisory Board. This Resolution will form an Arts <br />and Humanities Council for Louisville so that <br />Louisville will be able to begin obtaining funds <br />from the cultural tax. It is staff's <br />recommendation that Council adopt Resolution #10 <br />to form the Louisville Arts and Humanities Council <br />and Ms. Markham be appoint the Arts Council. <br />Applicants to the Art Council may send <br />applications for the Mayor's consideration and 3- <br />year appointment. Mayor Fauson approved the <br />Resolution and appointed Ms. Markham as Chairman. <br />2 <br />
