Asphalt Patching and Chip Seal Project from <br />Western Paving Construction Co. in the amount of <br />$34,788.30 and staff is recommending that they be <br />awarded the bid. <br />Mohr moved and Carnival seconded to award the 1989 <br />Asphalt Patching and Chip Seal project to Western <br />Paving Construction Co. in the amount of <br />$34,788.30. Motion passed 7-0. <br />AWARD BID - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT SITE <br />PAVING Phare explained that on May 9, 1989 bids were <br />opened on the 1989 Wastewater Treatment Plant Site <br />Paving Project and Flatiron Paving Co. in the <br />amount of $13,330.80 was the low bidder (utilizing <br />Alternate IT). Staff is recommending that <br />Flatiron be awarded the bid. <br />Anderson moved and Ferrera seconded to award the <br />1989 Wastewater Treatment Plant Site Paving <br />Project to Flatiron Paving Company in the amount <br />of $13,330.80 for Alternate II. Motion passed <br />7-0. <br />INFORMATION/APPROVAL - CITIZEN <br />NEWSLETTER Stahl explained that in keeping with Council's <br />desire to inform residents of current City events <br />and projects, the first quarterly citizen <br />newsletter is to be mailed on May 19 to <br />approximately 5,600 households of the City. <br />Newsletters will be published on a quarterly basis <br />thereafter. Linda Akins of LAK, an advertising <br />and public relations firm, is working with City <br />staff to develop the title, graphics artwork and <br />standard format far the newsletter. The goal is <br />to provide succinct, readable and factual <br />information to City residents. Standard features <br />will include "Recent Council Actions,", City <br />Events," "Status of CIP Project," "Recent <br />Ordinance Reminder", and a City Officials key. <br />Costs for the newsletter are estimated to run <br />around $4,500 annually, including postage and <br />printing. <br />Mayor Fauson moved and Ferrera seconded to approve <br />the Citizen Newsletter. The motion passed 6-1 <br />with Sackett voting no. <br />OTHER: <br />APPROVAL OF PURCHASE - 1.625 MARSHALL LAKE WATER SHARES AND 1 7/20 SOUTH <br />BOULDER AND COAL CREEK IRRIGATING DITCH COMPANY SHARES - 1ST INTERSTATE - <br />BANK Williamson asked Council to approve these water <br />shares purchases pursuant to negotiations with 1st <br />Interstate Bank.
