inappropriate including charging residents for
copies of city documents and he questioned the
terms prescribed for Planning Commission
members. Mr. DeSantis asked if the City
currently has agreementsjcontracts with City
consultants as one section regarding certain
consultants as outlined in the proposed
amendments states that they serve at Council's
pleasure and their appointment may be
terminated at will subject to specific written
agreements between the City and such
consultants.
Nick Marble, 480 Catalpa Court, stated that the
amendments as proposed "have been identified by
many Louisville residents for just what they
are -- a blatant and very cynical attempt to
refocus political power in a particular
appointed individual rather than in the elected
representatives of Louisville citizens." Mr.
Marble stated that he believes this to be a way
to subvert the results of the recent City
Council elections. "If this Council passes the
proposed code revisions ... this divisive issue
not only will be a legacy to the City, but will
also result in an organized, and I hope
successful effort, to recall the Mayor and
hold-over members who vote in favor of it."
Thomas Mayer, 580 Wildrose Way, expressed his
"anger over the obvious attempt of the current
city administration to sneak through ordinances
that would frustrate the will of the voters as
expressed in the most recent City election.
The first example is the attack by Mr. Stahl to
force the incoming Council to accept Mr.
Williamson as City Attorney in spite of the
fact that the fees Mr. Williamson is charging
the City have been nothing short of
exorbitant." Mr. Mayer expressed his concern
regarding the term prescribed for Planning
Commission. Mr. Mayer stated that Mr. Stahl is
trying to restrict access to public records by
charging citizens for copies. "This reflects a
fundamental disregard on the part of Mr. Stahl
for open City government. This is part of a
persistent pattern to keep the citizens of this
town from knowing what their government is
doing." Mr. Mayer also stated that he feels it
improper for this Council to allow the Santilli
property to be rezoned on South Boulder Road.
"It just so happens that the recipients of this
rezoning are the .in-laws of Mr. Stahl -- no
surprise, I suppose." Mr. Mayer asked Council
to table these issues to allow the incoming
4
