550 S. McCaslin Urban Renewal Plan <br />Draft Project Description / Statement of Goals <br />10/12/2015 <br />The Louisville Revitalization Commission is seeking proposals for property within the <br />550 S. McCaslin Boulevard Urban Renewal Area that will create a long -term viable use <br />or uses to bolster the existing developments and enrich the surrounding area. The <br />property is located at one of the key gateways to the City and can be a catalyst for <br />transitioning the area into a 21st Century retail corridor that promotes the Louisville <br />character. <br />This Urban Renewal Plan is an important tool for addressing the complications <br />confronting the Property at 550 South McCaslin Boulevard. A successful project for this <br />property would achieve many of the following outcomes: <br />• Alleviate the blighting factors present within the Urban Renewal Area <br />• Create a retail rich environment where area businesses and residents can <br />prosper through redevelopment or by securing desired tenants for the <br />property. <br />• Be a facilitator for the greater McCaslin Boulevard corridor by transforming <br />the site into a modern, vibrant and forward looking development. <br />• Consider potential impacts to the surrounding properties to help ensure <br />the transformation of the site will enjoy support within the community. <br />5 <br />
