of their operations. She explained that they really needed new or
improved studio cameras to improve, which would enhance their
production capabilities.

Sisk thanked DeSalvo for her continuing efforts and stated that
they looked forward to assisting them.

DeSalvo gave Council a report on their work, including a list of
their many needs at the station (SEE ATTACHED), explaining how some
of the needs could be met. She stated that they did get a
telephone, but would like more access to the phone jack.

Mayer wondered if there was a way to advertise what shows would be
on Channel 3, at what time, so the number of viewers would
increase. He commended DeSalvo for what she had undertaken,
considering the many limitations they've faced.

Ilene Kalbe, 2340 North Springwood, Lafayette, Colorado, stated
that two years ago she had placed an ad in the newspaper and
received a response from 30 people interested in Public Access
television. Out of that response, 18 people showed up for an in-
service given by Scripps Howard. A lot of the people didn't
continue, because of the time element, the quality of the
equipment, and the status of the building. She stated that the
equipment is very old and outdated. She was very concerned about
the condition of the building, i.e., the hole in the roof had been
there for over two months and moisture pours in. She hopes a date
would be made to clean up the studio, as there are mice droppings,
roaches, and is very smelly, which is not appropriate to bring
guests into. She invited Council on a tour of the studio.

Sisk:

Who pays the rent for this studio?

Kalbe:

The building is owned by Scripps
Howard to be used for Public Access.

Sisk:

Have we ever attempted or do we have
the present cameras to do a
Centaurus football or basketball
game?

Kalbe:

No. We don't have any off-site
capability.

Davidson called for anyone else in the audience wishing to comment
on Scripps Howard's service.

NONE

Davidson called for Council comments.

NONE
