talked to the City Manager and said
what can I do, we've screwed up. I
didn't hear that from the city. I
didn't hear that, when all of these
people .... We've gotten a building
permit, and we've got a PUD, and
we've got all of these other things
that said, no, the city .... no we've
made a mutual mistake. It's not our
intent to come in here and sell
homes or to build homes that weren't
intended on the plat. We've screwed
up. Do you understand? I've said
it over and over again. People make
mistakes.

Davidson stated that equal mistakes were made.

Mayer:

Ail I can say is that the city
official responsible for this is no
longer here. I he were here, we
would deal with that. I really feel
that this is inadequate dealing with
the situation.

Mayer proposed that a mixture of deciduous and evergreen trees be
done, perhaps on the city's space, the open land down below, that
would eventually screen the area and would not so directly impact
the people buying the homes there.

Sheffield stated that he would like for Council to direct Sheffield
Homes, with City staff, to work things out and bring an acceptable
plan to Council.

Annette Brand, City Administrator,
Sheffield to attend this meeting,
Council felt about this.

stated that she had asked Mr.
because she knew how deeply

Howard wanted more mature trees planted, so they didn't have to
wait 20 years for the screening.

Sheffield stated that the landscape architects thought that 12' of
evergreen may be the maximum that can be planted and live this time
of year. He preferred that the trees be planted on both sides of
the fences. He commented that, if there is an imposing view at
all, it's when you drive off of U.S. 36 onto McCaslin. He didn't
feel that there should be a meeting with the Enclave, as he didn't
feel that they would be impacted at all.

Howard wondered if Sheffield intended the city to give that first
year of care to the trees planted.

15
