Hundley suggested that there is no waiting list of <br />projects which cost $2,000 to $2,500. This piece of <br />equipment went out .and the City has been operating a <br />few weeks without it and it does pose a real prob- <br />lem. We can contract at the local car wash, but <br />that would be expen:ae over time. Since this is a <br />replacement piece o~E equipment, the cost is fairly <br />low and there don't seem to be any other budget <br />packages in the amount of the $2,200 savings on <br />South Boulder Road ghat would seem to be worth bring <br />to Council. <br />AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD <br />PROJECT <br />OTHER: <br />Mayor Fauson called for a vote on the motion. The <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />BID - TREATED WATER S`.~ORAGE TANK <br />Hundley asked that Council enter into Executive <br />Session as this is an issue relating to <br />negotiations. <br />Mayor Fauson recessed to Executive Session to dis- <br />cuss this issue at 8:25 p.m. <br />Mayor Fauson reopened the Meeting at 8:40 p.m. <br />Phare explained thai:, on Thursday, August 27, bids <br />were opened for the City's 2 million gallon Treated <br />Water Storage Tank project. Rocky Mountain Consul- <br />tants and staff recommend award of bid to Jenison <br />Construction Co., Ir:c. RMC is also recommending <br />Alternate A bid be accepted. The bid amount is <br />somewhat less than estimated and is funded in the <br />CIP funds. Jenison's bid was $475,205. <br />Hundley stated that the original engineer's estimate <br />for this project four the purpose of obtaining <br />financing was $500,IJ00, and therefore, Council <br />should feel comfortable knowing that the bid <br />actually came in lower than the estimate used to <br />issue bonds. <br />Szymanski moved that Jenison Construction Co., Inc. <br />be awarded the bid i.or the treated water storage <br />tank project in the amount of $475,205. Scarpella <br />seconded. Unanimous. <br />RAPID TRANSIT Wanush gave a brief update on the rapid transit <br />discussions that have taken place. The City is <br />participating in the Northwest Corridor rapid <br />transit system meetings.
