Capital Improvement, Cemetery, Conservation Trust,
Revenue Sharing, Debt Service, Special Improvement
District 86-1, and Water and Wastewater Funds."
Hundley stated that the Finance Committee reviewed
this last week and will comment at the public
hearing.
Mayor Fauson moved that Resolution #36 be published
and a public hearing set for December 1, 1987.
Sackett seconded. Unanimous.
RESOLUTION #37 - FIRE STATION #2 - SUBDIVISION AND
PUD Rautenstraus read iri its entirety Resolution #37, "A
Resolution approving a final PUD and Plat for Fire
Station No. 2 Subdivision."
Wanush explained that the City gave approximately 3
acres of ground along the north side of Via Appia
across from the northwest corner of the recreation
center to the Louisville Fire Protection District.
McStain also dedicai~ed land adjacent to this site.
The Fire District wants to construct an approxi-
mately 4,000 s.f. fire station to service the
western portion of i:he City. This requires a sub-
division, PUD and Special Review Use. The Planning
Commission reviewed this September 10, 1987, and
recommends approval with the following conditions:
1) the helipad remain on the PUD but have a state-
ment written stating that the helipad is a Special
Review Use and shal]L not be operational until that
SRU procedure has been followed; 2) sidewalk and
second hydrant are added along Via Appia; and 3)
language regarding signing/signalization responsi-
bility is made a part of the subdivision agreement.
Wanush stated that the signalization would entail
the placement of two warning signs - one for each
direction on Via Appia. These will flash on call.
Planning Commission and staff felt that until FAA
approval has been acquired, no decision regarding
the helipad should be made. There don't seem to be
any problems.
Szymanski asked why there would need to be a helipad
at the fire station site since most calls requiring
airlift take place at the location of the emergency.
Wanush stated that during the hearing with Planning
Commission, the Disirict requested the site for
practicing procedures during these types of calls.
Mohr stated that thE~ training of the paramedics
takes place after th.e helicopter is on the ground
10
