APPOINTMENT OF <br />CITY CLERK At the January 28th Council Work Session, several <br />alternatives for filling the position of City <br />Clerk for the City of Louisville were discussed. <br />At the November Municipal Election, there were no <br />candidates for City Clerk which is an elected <br />position. Hundley :recommended appointment of Pam <br />Ferris as the Louisville City Clerk. Ferris has <br />served as City Clerk for the past year. Szymanski <br />asked as to the legality of a Council appointment <br />to an elected office. Rautenstraus assured Council <br />that State Statutes provide for this procedure of <br />filling elected positions when there are no <br />candidates for the office. <br />Szymanski moved that Pam Ferris be appointed to <br />the office of City Clerk. Mohr seconded. <br />Unanimous. <br />JAZZ FESTIVAL UPDATE John Wilken, Executive Director, Louisville <br />Chamber of Commerce outlined the efforts of <br />Chambermembers to k~ring a Jazz Festival to the <br />City of Louisville during the City's annual Fall <br />Festival Days during the Labor Day Weekend. Staff <br />recommended Council endorsement and support for <br />the Jazz Festival as it would be a positive event <br />for the City of Louisville and it is not <br />anticipated that the demands will be overly <br />burdensome nor costly. <br />Council commended the efforts of the Chamber of <br />Commerce in organizing this event. Mohr moved <br />that City Council endorse the Jazz Festival, Mayor <br />Fauson seconded. Unanimous. <br />RECOGNITION RESOLUTION #16 <br />OUTSTANDING SERVICE - <br />LEON A. WURL Mayor Fauson presented Leon A. Wurl, past City <br />Administrator for tlhe City of Louisville, with a <br />"long over due" Resolution of recognition for <br />outstanding service,. Mr. Wurl was present to <br />receive the Resolution thanked Mayor Fauson and <br />Council for the honor. <br />RESOLUTION #13 - SUBDIVISION <br />AND PUD AGREEMENTS - SADDLEBACK I <br />Wanush asked that both subdivisions, Saddleback I <br />and Saddleback II be discussed at the same time. <br />There will be separate motions for each of the two <br />Resolutions. <br />2 <br />
