APPOINTMENT OF CITY CLERK At the January 28th Council Work Session, several alternatives for filling the position of City Clerk for the City of Louisville were discussed. At the November Municipal Election, there were no candidates for City Clerk which is an elected position. Hundley :recommended appointment of Pam Ferris as the Louisville City Clerk. Ferris has served as City Clerk for the past year. Szymanski asked as to the legality of a Council appointment to an elected office. Rautenstraus assured Council that State Statutes provide for this procedure of filling elected positions when there are no candidates for the office. Szymanski moved that Pam Ferris be appointed to the office of City Clerk. Mohr seconded. Unanimous. JAZZ FESTIVAL UPDATE John Wilken, Executive Director, Louisville Chamber of Commerce outlined the efforts of Chambermembers to k~ring a Jazz Festival to the City of Louisville during the City's annual Fall Festival Days during the Labor Day Weekend. Staff recommended Council endorsement and support for the Jazz Festival as it would be a positive event for the City of Louisville and it is not anticipated that the demands will be overly burdensome nor costly. Council commended the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce in organizing this event. Mohr moved that City Council endorse the Jazz Festival, Mayor Fauson seconded. Unanimous. RECOGNITION RESOLUTION #16 OUTSTANDING SERVICE - LEON A. WURL Mayor Fauson presented Leon A. Wurl, past City Administrator for tlhe City of Louisville, with a "long over due" Resolution of recognition for outstanding service,. Mr. Wurl was present to receive the Resolution thanked Mayor Fauson and Council for the honor. RESOLUTION #13 - SUBDIVISION AND PUD AGREEMENTS - SADDLEBACK I Wanush asked that both subdivisions, Saddleback I and Saddleback II be discussed at the same time. There will be separate motions for each of the two Resolutions. 2
