Fauson moved that Ordinance #882, Series 1986, be
placed out for publication and a Public Hearing be
set for March 4, 1986. Szymanski seconded.
Unanimous.
AUTHORIZATION TO OBTAIN BIDS -
HIGH ZONE PUMP STATION
Phare outlined that in the 1986 Capital Budget for
the Water Plant is the addition of the fifth large
capacity high zone pump. Experience from last
year and preliminary results of the City's current
Water Distribution and Supply Study indicate the
High Zone Pump Stat_i.on is at or near capacity
during peak demand. For these reasons, Public
Works is recommending that the fifth and last
large capacity high zone pump be added to provide
redundancy to the existing pumps so that should an
existing pump fail, demand requirements can be
met. Phare also asked that Rocky Mountain
Consultants be retained to provide staff
assistance in engineering the project. Because
of the small size oi: the project and RMC's
familiarity with the; City's High Zone Pump
Station, staff does not feel a request for
proposals from othez- consultants is warranted.
Phare explained that: beginning the project now
will allow enough lead time to have the pump in
place and in servicE~ during the peak demands this
summer .
Anderson moved that Staff be authorized to proceed
with obtaining engir.-eering bids for installation
of the fifth large capacity high zone pump and
retain Rocky Mountain Consultants to assist in the
project. Scarpella seconded. Unanimous.
TROUSIL ANNEXATION AND
ZONING REQUEST
Mayor Fauson received a letter from Robert E.
Trousil requesting t:he annexation of 6.33 acres of
ground at Empire Road and Highway 42.
Wanush asked Mr. Trousil if he was requesting an
industrial zoning as. this would conform to his
existing use. Mr. Trousil nodded affirmatively.
Wanush recommended this annexation and zoning
request be referred to the Planning Commission for
recommendation.
Mohr moved that Trousil annexation request be
referred to the Planning Commission for
recommendation. Fauson seconded. Unanimous.
3
