Hundley stated that awarding this bid would show
sound fiscal position on the part of the City
Council by locking in excellent bids. The
contractor is an excellent one showing a
willingness to cooperate with the City. This
contractor has worked on other stretches of South
Boulder Road and done a very good job.
Mayor Fauson commended Centennial Engineering for
their work and efforts in pulling this project
together along with staff. He also thanked the
contractors for their cooperation.
Mayor Fauson moved that the South Boulder Road
project be awarded to National Construction in a
two phase contract and approve the three Change
Orders as presented, and Centennial Engineering be
awarded construction management fees not to exceed
$89,900. Mohr seconded. Unanimous.
PUBLIC COMMENTS None.
COUNCIL COMMENTS AND
COMMITTEE REPORTS Anderson stated that there would be a Consortium
Meeting Wednesday.
Sackett stated that the DRCOG Agreement was due to
be renewed and he would bring that information in
at a later date.
Carnival related the Ward II Walk Thru was a
positive endeavor although the turn out was small.
Another one would be scheduled in approximately
two months.
Mohr stated that the 20th Annual Spaghetti open
was successful and as Chamber Representative he
wanted to invite everyone to the Annual Fourth of
July Celebration with food services beginning at
11:00 a.m. asking for volunteers.
Hundley reminded Council of the July 10th Work
Session wherein the Golf Association will be
present to consider two requests for development
of a possible golf course at the Davidson Mesa
site. This is a public meeting to hear these
proposals and then Council will take- it under
advisement and make a decision on the following
Tuesday as to which group they will negotiate
with.
Also, Hundley asked that Council attend a Work
Session July 10th at 4:30 p.m. to go over the
results of the Salary Survey.
11
