He introduced his two sons, Bradon and Bennett, who are hockey players. <br />He thanked the Mayor, Council and City Staff for the new inline skating rink and invited <br />everyone to the grand opening on Friday, May 2, 2003. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager for Governmental Relations Heather Balser reported that United <br />States Representative James Oberstar is coming to Louisville on a bus tour of US36 on <br />April 22, 2003. Oberstar is the ranking minority member on the US House <br />Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. The tour starts in Boulder with a 25 <br />minutes stop at Louisville's proposed round station, at approximately 9:50 to 10:15 a.m. <br />Oberstar will comment on the commuter rail aspects of the locally preferred alternative <br />and the downtown area in relationship to the round stop. The public is invited to attend. <br /> <br />Sisk reported on a DRCOG meeting, where the City was awarded the 2003 Local <br />Government Innovations Award - 1 st Place Cooperative Service Delivery - Cooperation <br />Regionally Water Supply Development. He stressed the importance of the award. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1418, SERIES 2003 -AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING <br />CERTAIN PROPERTY AS BEING REQUIRED FOR THE PUBLIC USE FOR <br />THE HIGHWAY 42/96TM STREET CONNECTION PROJECT AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION THEREOF THROUGH NEGOTIATION <br />AND/OR CONDEMNATION - 2nd reading - public hearing (advertised Daily <br />Camera 4/5/03) <br /> <br />Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br /> <br />
