1.) <br /> <br />2.) <br /> <br />One focuses on-site, which would accelerate the clean-up <br />of four buildings on plant site and allow a private <br />company to utilize those buildings for private <br />operations. This company would melt down scrap metal <br />that will be coming out of buildings that are being <br />cleaned up from Rocky Flats, melt it down at the site in <br />vacuum furnaces and recast the metal into containers. <br />The drums would then be used to put waste from other <br />demolition or decommissioning actions at the plant. This <br />project could employ 500 manufacturing employees from <br />Rocky Flats. <br />The second focuses off-site, through an entrepreneurial <br />small business incubator to help these employees start up <br />their company, privatize some of the technology that <br />they've utilized on plant site, or perhaps some of the <br />clean-up technology that's going to be developed through <br />the clean up of Rocky Flats. To date they have taken <br />over 700 current and laid off employees and shown them <br />what is needed to start up a new business. <br /> <br />Howard called for Council comments or questions. <br /> <br />Mayer wondered how many Louisville residents had been affected. <br /> <br />Heaton stated that he would update that information and give it to <br />Chris Miller. <br /> <br />Howard called for public comments. <br /> <br />NONE <br /> <br />Mayer moved that Council approve the Rocky Flats Local Impacts <br />Initiative proposed nominees for the 1994 Board of Directors and <br />report on 1993 Initiative Activities. Seconded by Lathrop. All in <br />favor with Davidson being excused. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - PRELIMINARY SUBDIVISION PLAT AND PUD <br />DEVELOPMENT PLAN - ST. LOUIS CHURCH - PARISH PROPERTY AT GARFIELD <br />AVENUE AND SOUTH STREET <br /> <br />Paul Wood, Planning Director, stated the 7.7 acres, annexed in <br />January of 1990, is zoned RR. They propose 18 lots from 10,000 <br />s.f. to 14,400 s.f. Minimum lot size requirements for RR zoning is <br />20,000 s.f. The applicant requested variance to the lot size. A <br />park is propose central in location to the subdivision. An open <br />space buffer is along the south property line. The cul-de-sacs do <br />not meet City's standards. After exacting the 15% open space <br />dedication, the property would have 12 - 14 units under the 20,000 <br />s.f. required minimum. <br /> <br />Davidson called for the applicant's presentation. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br /> <br />
