<br />Building Code Board of Appeals <br />Minutes <br />April 19, 2007 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br />Some more discussion followed on how the commercial building requirements <br />are more energy efficient now for residential. <br /> <br />Mike Jones stated our concern is old town and it's future. <br /> <br />Chad Kipfer said Markel is committed 100% to energy efficiency. <br /> <br />Light discussion went around a bout recycling construction waste. <br /> <br />Mike Jones thanked everyone for coming. He asked for LRCAB's next meeting <br />date. <br /> <br />Scott Robson said there is a work session at the Library where they want input <br />from both boards. He said he is trying to get direction from City Council in May. <br />He said LRCAB cannot move forward without council's questions, and there is <br />no more formal action. <br /> <br />ADOPTION 2006 ICC Codes <br /> <br />Mike Jones stated financially we are not at the place to spend the money for <br />adopting the 2006 Code. It cost substantially in books, documentation, software, <br />and office implementation. We skipped the 2000 cycle because of the costs and <br />contradictions in the code. He stated t2003 Code was streamlined and better <br />Code to adopt. He suggested it is best to wait until 2009 to adopt that code. <br /> <br />Some general discussion about the minor code changes in the past occurred. <br /> <br />Matthew Berry stated there are not many cities at all who are adopting 2006 code <br /> <br />Bob Van Pelt motioned to the Board they do not adopt the 2006 Code. All <br />members accepted the motion. <br /> <br />Board of Appeals Comments - No comments were made. <br /> <br />Staff Comments <br />Mike Jones said he is working on getting RLS off the alternate status and onto <br />regular status with the Board. David Rounds should be in the alternate position. <br />May 8th is the Council work session. We will have a rep from BOA or whole group <br />will be determined byemail. <br /> <br />Date for next meeting <br />TBD <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:15 PM. <br />
