John Franklin, Director of Community Development, stated that State Statutes required that the Council adopt a resolution which declares intent to annex and sets a Public Hearing. The next two Agenda Items (Ordinances 1073 & 1074, Series, 1992) are also part of this process. The annexor and the applicant, the Meadows at Coal Creek Corporation, are represented tonight and are prepared to answer any question that Council might have in preparation for the Public Hearing, should Council wish to set that. That Public Hearing would be scheduled for June 2, 1992. Susan Griffiths, City Attorney, asked Franklin if on Section 4 of Resolution No. 29 where Council refers the annexation to the Planning Commission was that correct? Franklin: No, the Planning Commission has reviewed this. Griffiths: So, the Council could amend Resolution No. 29 to delete Section 4. Franklin: That would be proper. Also, a representative of the Planning Commission is here prepared to provide the Planning Commission's prospective on this case. Hornbostel: Davidson: Recently, Council has been made aware of the problem within the schools as far as someone moving into the area and their children not being able to go to school in the Louisville schools. It's an issue that Council needs to address before Council does many more annexations. Does Council have a problem with continuing this discussion until Council meets with the School Board? Council needs to have some idea where Louisville is going before Council accepts another annexation. The actual ordinances would be sent out for Public Hearing and a Public Notice and Hearing would be conducted on June 2, 1991, which would be after the initial meeting with the schools.
