Library Board of Trustees <br />Meeting Minutes—DRAFT <br />January 12, 2017 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />• Go -Pro camera kits, telescopes, SLR camera, and Arduino kits were added to the <br />Makerspace <br />• Messy Art! for little kids ages 2-5 <br />• Collaborative art created through Artist in Residence <br />• Flatirons Library Consortium was expanded; now over 1 million items available for <br />check out <br />• The Integrated Library System (ILS) was upgraded <br />• An intern inventoried and prepared for addition to the collection The Louisville <br />Times <br />Members of the board expressed appreciation for all the work of Library staff in making <br />the work plan for 2016 a reality. <br />D. Work Plan 2016 <br />Beth added to her presentation the items from the 2016 Work Plan that were completed <br />or ongoing. <br />E. Library Horizon Plan for 2017 <br />Becky presented plans for 2017, parts of which include the following: <br />• Wireless printing for all patrons <br />• New door locks for employees <br />• Coding classes for children and young adults, ages 3-18. <br />• Refresh Public Services Areas: <br />o Children's Services <br />o Teen Loft <br />o Adult Services <br />• Utilize Data Analysis Tools <br />X. Ongoing Business <br />A. Louisville City Council Update (A. Stolzmann) <br />• Ashley explained that the Council is getting close to a decision on the McCaslin <br />Small Area Plan. <br />• The Council has developed a work plan for 2017 that includes 13 hours that are <br />undesignated. <br />• The police department has developed a strategic plan that they will be presenting <br />to Council. It includes a proposal for a pension plan for officers. <br />• Ashley said there were great applicants for the Library Board and many who were <br />not appointed were willing to volunteer to help. She gave a list to Beth of <br />interested citizens. <br />
