Grady <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Paula Flowers, 677 W. Juniper Court, Louisville, CO, reported an incident that occurred <br />in February involving herself and a Louisville Police Officer. She stated she was arrested <br />for asking for clarification of a traffic stop made on her son. She expressed her dismay <br />with the way she was treated. She met with Police Chief Goodman relative to the <br />incident, and voiced her belief the police department is not aware of the problem with the <br />officer. She expressed her concern that minorities may not be treated fairly in Louisville. <br /> <br />Janet McSmith, 882 W. Mulberry Street, Louisville, CO, updated Council on the Fireside <br />Elementary School playground equipment. She thanked Council for their $10,000 <br />contribution and noted the Boulder County Commissioners also contributed $10,000. <br />She informed Council the COGO Grant was not approved, however, the project would go <br />forward with the exception of the play odyssey. She requested the City's contribution. <br /> <br />Davidson asked McSmith to contact the Deputy City Manager for the City's contribution. <br /> <br />Janice Ann Porter, 1606 W. Canal Court, Littleton, CO, stated she is the attorney <br />representing Ms. Flowers in the municipal court case. She addressed the diversity <br />sensitivity and responsiveness of Louisville and explained this incident is an opportunity <br />for the City to evaluate and deal with such a situation. She asked Council to investigate <br />the incident and make some determination on how to avoid situations in the future.
