possibly had discouraged potential development or developers over
the past year. He felt that since he had had several unsolicited
comments concerning this, then perhaps Council should look into the
situation.

Hornbostel stated that along the same line she has received a lot
of comments from people who are very supportive of what Council has
done.

Maj-Lis Kemper, City Clerk, informed Council that the Girl Scouts
in the area were treated to talks by Police Officer Phillips and
Dave Yost of the Fire Department. She was very impressed with what
goes on in the City of Louisville in both the Fire Department and
the Police Department.

Davidson felt that there are substantial differences between what
a developer may want to do in Louisville and what the community may
want a developer to do. He stated that Council has to look to the
interests of the City and the community as a whole.

Lathrop stated that he did not want his comments directed toward
growth or no growth, quality or no quality. His comments were
directed toward process, courtesy, treating people fairly and
honestly, and for Council to try to figure out a way to be more
forthright in how they deal with issues.

Sisk suggested that next year the Work Session be publicized and
televised.

Mayer felt that there were some improvements that could be made in
the "process". He also agreed with Sisk.

Hedding commented that the Ward III meeting would be held on
Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center.

CIg~Y ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT

Annette Brand, City Administrator, stated that concerning the Work
Sessions and their being televised, there are times that the
Planning Commission needs the room also, but if Council would
possibly consider changing the Work Sessions to another night it
might work. She asked Chris Miller, Staff Research Analyst, if he
would now inform Council about the elevators and the braille.

Miller:

It is more than just the braille on
the control keypads. It also
includes putting on the new audible
signal. We don't have that on this
elevator. There is something called
a hoistway jamb that they're going
to put in that indicates what floor
you're on. US Elevator has

7
