Louisville City Council Organizational Meeting January 12, 2004 Page 2 of 4 CITY COUNCIL - OATH OF OFFICE BY JUDGE BRUCE JOSS Municipal Judge Bruce Joss swore in Council members Dave Clabots - Ward I, Sheri Marsella - Ward II and Don Brown - Ward III. Council members Clabots, Marsella and Brown expressed their honor at serving the citizens of the City of Louisville and introduced their family members. RECOGNITION OF PREVIOUS CITY OF LOUISVILLE MAYORS Mayor Sisk recognized the previous Mayors of Louisville: Lawrence Caranci (1970- 1974 & 1980-1982), John Waschak, Jr. (1974-1980), Norbert Meier (1982-1986), and Herman Fauson (1986-1992), and presented each with a plaque honoring them for their service to the citizens of Louisville. APPOINTMENT OF MAYOR PRO-TEM Mayor Sisk nominated John Keany as Mayor Pro-Tern, seconded by Levihn. Hearing no other nominations, the nominations were closed. MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved John Keany be appointed as Mayor Pro-Tem, to a term expiring November of 2005, seconded by Levihn. All in favor. APPOINTMENT OF CITY OFFICIALS - OATH OF OFFICE BY CITY CLERK NANCY VARRA Mayor Sisk stated the appointments of the Municipal Judge and Deputy Municipal Judge will be two (2) year terms, which will expire at the first meeting in January of 2006. MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved that Council appoint Bruce Joss as Municipal Judge, and Larry Mertes as Deputy Judge, to two-year terms, expiring the first meeting in January of 2006. Council member Brown seconded the motion. All in favor. City Clerk Nancy Varra swore in Bruce Joss to the office of Municipal Court Judge and Larry Mertes to the office of Deput. y Municipal Judge. APPOINTMENT OF NANCY VARRA AS CITY CLERK- OATH OF OFFICE BY JUDGE BRUCE JOSS City Manager Bill Simmons appointed Nancy Varra as City Clerk. Municipal Judge Bruce Joss swore in Nancy Varra to the office of City Clerk. 2
