Louisville City Council Meeting <br />March 2, 2004 <br />Page 9 of 10 <br /> <br />Clarion to take the lead in drafting the zoning code amendments and the design <br />guidelines, and Civitas would be involved in the design component for continuity from <br />the previous process. <br /> <br />Keany inquired as to the status of the Urban Renewal Authority. City Manager Simmons <br />stated interviews for Urban Renewal Authority have been scheduled for next week. <br /> <br />Sisk stressed the importance of the consultants working in conjunction with the Urban <br />Renewal Authority, and the Comprehensive Plan Update, in a very public process. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons noted the bid submitted by Clarion Associates was $70,462. The <br />City budgeted $35,000 therefore a supplementary appropriation would be forth coming. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Brown moved that Council authorize the Mayor to execute <br />a contract with Clarion Associates and Civitas, Inc., for consulting services on Zoning <br />Code Amendments and Design Guidelines for the Highway 42 Revitalization Area <br />Comprehensive Plan. Council member Van Pelt seconded the motion. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light requested the motion include authorization for the Mayor to <br />negotiate the contract, make non-substantial changes and to sign the contract. <br /> <br />Council member Brown amended his motion to include authorization for the Mayor to <br />negotiate the contract, make non-substantial changes and to sign the contract. Council <br />member Van Pelt accepted the amendment to the motion. <br /> <br />VOTE: Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 7-0. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested the redlined changes to the contract be made available to Council <br />via e-mail. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />No items to report. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons requested Staff reports: <br /> <br />· Public Works Director Tom Phare updated Council on the progress of Highway <br /> 42/96th Street Connection. <br /> <br />Planning Director Paul Wood updated Council on the progress on the Citywide <br />Comprehensive Plan Update referral process. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br /> <br />
