5/2/17 Ticketing Discussion Gina Barton, Debbie Davis, Katie Zoss (Staff) 1. New Ticket Pricing: one price a. Eliminate Senior/student/youth pricing to make all tickets one price b. Suggested price: $10 (standard) or $15 (premium/crowd-pleaser) c. Rationale i. Ticket prices of $10-$15 are very low and provide residents with affordable access to the arts. ii. Low price is available because the City heavily subsidizes the LCC events. iii. LCC tickets are roughly 50% of the ticket prices for similar quality music at The Dairy. iv. We strive to keep ticket prices low for all rather than specifically targeting events for seniors. v. LCC presents a large number of free community events, bringing cultural activities to underserved populations including 5 summer concerts in the park and free lectures. vi. Discontinuing the age -based discounts benefits artists because it gives the opportunity for them to earn more if they have a large crowd. 2. Online Ticketing a. Recommend Utilizing Brown Paper Tickets for the 2017-2018 season i. Cost is minimal and passed on directly to ticket -buyer (3.5% + $.99/ticket) ii. Cost for booking in advance = $1.34 to $1.51 per ticket iii. Eventbrite does not offer tiered pricing iv. System is easy to use and our patrons are familiar with the site v. Offers ability for ticket -buyers to add a donation with their order. 3. New Ticketing Policies a. Distribute physical tickets at the door i. Needed to track will call vs. day -of sales so that we don't oversell ii. Set aside physical tickets for all will call tickets iii. Brown Paper tickets can print for $10/show or we can use roll of standard tix b. Will call tickets are released to public at time of show i. *not sure if this is the best policy, maybe 5 min into the show is better c. Clearly state general admission policy. i. All seats are general admission and seats are not guaranteed to be together. ii. We recommend arriving 20 minutes before the show for the best seats, earlier for larger parties. iii. State ticket policy on Brown Paper Tickets website d. Online sales end at midnight before the show i. Could make noon the day -of show if that seems better. e. Standing room tickets are full price.
