All in favor. ORDINANCE NO. 1447, SERIES 2004 - AN ORDINANCE ZONING PROPERTY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE AND KNOWN AS THE PICKETT PROPERTY- 1st reading - set public hearing 4/20/04 Mayor Sisk called for City Attorney introduction. City Attorney Sam Light read Ordinance No. 1447, Series 2004. MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved that Ordinance No. 1447, Series 2004, be published and a public hearing be set for April 20, 2004, seconded by Council member Van Pelt. All in favor. CONSIDERATION OF PROJECT MANAGER FOR THE SKATE BOARD PARK Mayor Sisk called for Staff presentation. City Manager Simmons requested the Council consider authorizing a project manager contract for the Skate Board Park. He reviewed the proposed schedule and requested authorization for the Mayor to negotiate a contract. Mayor Sisk asked if a delay of two weeks would affect the proposed scheduled timeline. Land Management Director Cindy Lair stated Staff is in the process of compiling the bid documents and requests Council consideration in the appointment of a project manager to assist with the documents and the bid process. Council member Van Pelt voiced her preference to move forward with the process. Council member Brown concurred. City Manager Bill Simmons outlined the Project Manager duties, which included the following: oversee the construction bid documents; pre-bid conferences; bid process; review bids; pre-construction meetings; site inspections; reports; and walk-thru and final acceptance. MOTION: Council member Brown moved that Council authorize Staff to proceed with the project manager contract for the Skate Board Park. Council member Keany seconded the motion. Mayor Sisk offered a friendly amendment that the contract amount for the Skate Board Park Project Manager not exceed $24,000. Council members Brown and Keany accepted the amendment.
