City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 4, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 8 <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br />THE AGENDA <br />Mayor Pro Tem Marsella remiinded the public of the Louisville Senior Heat Relief <br />dinner on Thursday, February 21 and the Caucuses on Tuesday, February Stn <br />CIl'Y MANAGER'S REPORT <br />City Manager Fleming reported on the following items: <br />• The Louisville Recreation Center had over 1 million visitors in 2007. <br />• The Downtown Business Association purchased new lights for the Parade <br />of Lights and donated them to the City. <br />• The City is working wi1:h the Boulder Valley School District in a joint project <br />to provide fiber optics 'to the schools and City facilities. <br />• A Preliminary Development Plan and PUD for Park Villas Development, <br />(Baptist Church propeirty) was received with no change in zoning. The <br />Planning Commission will review the project in March. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />SHOP LOUISVILLE VALENTINE'S DAY DRAWING <br />Councilor Yarnell explained a vibrant merchant base and a broad tax base is <br />what really makes Louisville. The Shop Louisville Campaign was established to <br />encourage residents to shop locally. The Shop Louisville Campaign Web Site <br />address is: www.shoplouisvillleco.com. The first Shop Louisville $500 drawing <br />was in December. Approximately 800 residents registered for the chance to win <br />prizes in the 2008 quarterly drawing. City Clerk Varra drew five names and Jon <br />Skinner, ZVC, Inc., announcE;d the winners for the Valentine's Day prizes: <br />• Flowers With Flair teddy bear, chocolate heart/balloon -Ellis Cunningham <br />• Centennial Hair Cuts 910 towards any service -Kim Chartier <br />• Centennial Wine one rnonth to their wine club worth $25 -Sandy Ross <br />• Carrabba's dinner worth $45 - Carleen Smeaton <br />• Taj Mahal dinner for 2,~bottle of wine -valued at $80 -George Setlock <br />Councilor Yarnell drew the name for the grand prize.
