City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 4, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 9 <br />Mayor Sisk and the City Council recognized Jared Vigil for his efforts in rescuing <br />Connie Ostwald from Lake Park on February 6, 2008. He was presented a <br />proclamation and a gift certificate for a youth annual pass at the Louisville <br />Recreation Center. <br />Jared Vigil introduced his mother, grandmother, aunts and uncle. <br />CIl'Y MANAGER'S REPORT <br />City Manager Fleming reported on the following items: <br />• Public Relations Manager Muth stated the City has entered into a contract <br />with Kay Gazaway, for the July 4t" and the Fall Festival Events planning. <br />She introduced Kay Gazaway. Kay Gazaway thanked Council and noted <br />she has been a Louisville resident for 16 years and enjoyed the Fall <br />Festival and the July 4t" festivities. She looked forward to working on this <br />year's events. <br />• City Manager Fleming announced Andrew and Kelly Williams have been <br />selected to conduct a ;Saturday Farmer's Market. They hope to start in <br />May and have up to 40 vendors. They propose to have fresh produce and <br />food vendors. <br />Staff had several meeirings with Conoco Phillips since their announcement <br />to locate in Louisville. They propose to deconstruct the current facilities <br />and have their new training facility open in 2012. Their concept is of a <br />corporate training ceni:er and alternative energy research facility. Conoco <br />Phillips is trying to reach out to the community and last week met with <br />various county and local officials, school principals, the Downtown <br />Business Association, the Chamber of Commerce and the CEO of Avista <br />Hospital. <br />• City Manager Fleming will be the guest speaker at the "State of the City" <br />luncheon sponsored by the Louisville Chamber of Commerce. <br />• Artwork at the library is highlighted in a binder located at the circulation <br />desk.
