City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 18, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 10 <br />encouraged Mr. Parson to continue his dialogue with the Code Enforcement <br />Division and search for another property. <br />Mr. Parson explained Code Enforcement gave him until Friday to move his <br />business. He requested Council grant him an extension. City Attorney Light <br />explained only the Code Enforcement Division can grant an extension. <br />Mayor Sisk suggested Mr. Parson ask permission to use a property owner's lot. <br />Mr. Parson stated he has made calls, but has not received any response. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />City Manager Fleming reported on the following items: <br />The City received 86 applications for the Parks and Recreation Director <br />position. Six finalists vvill be interviewed the second week of April. <br />The status on gateway signs project: In response to the RFP, six firms <br />submitted responses. Staff will interview three firms. <br />The status of the stop signs on Polk Avenue: The Public Works Director <br />will report to Council at a study session on the criteria for options, <br />alternative routes, Public Works resources and implementation cost. <br />City Attorney Light addressed Mr. Duran's concern relative to the special events <br />and explained the Local Licensing Authority looks at the licensee's request to <br />change his premises for the St. Patrick's Day events on an annual basis. He <br />suggested Mr. Duran address his concerns to the Authority at the meeting when <br />approval of the application is reviewed. The Authority meets the last Monday of <br />the month and the application would be reviewed in January or February. <br />(REGULAR BUSINESS <br />PRESENTATION -LIBRARY ARCHITECTURAL AWARD <br />Library Director Anne Mojo introduced four members of the Library Board; <br />Meredith Davis, Mary Seifert, Eileen Patrick, Alicia Mahoney and Humphries Poli <br />Architect, Dennis Humphries. She explained the Louisville Public Library was <br />honored with a Citation Award by the American Institute of Architects, Denver <br />Chapter. <br />Mr. Dennis Humphries presented the award to the City. The award honored the <br />community and the design team's collaboration in developing a forward thinking <br />vision to locate the new Library within the historic district that will soon host a <br />new commuter rail station. <br />
