COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Councilor Bob Muckle reminded evE:ryone of the 4th of July celebration at Community Park and the Fireworks display at the Coal Creek Golf Course. Mayor Sisk reported on the new Lyrix bus line started on June 30th. Also on June 30th, full-time City employees signed up for Eco passes. He noted there would not be a Street Faire on July 4t". Thee US 36 Preferred Alternative will be signed by all jurisdictions by July 9, 2008. He noted ConocoPhillips was in Boulder last week to provide an update on their plans for their Louisville facility. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT City Manager Malcolm Fleming reported on the following: • Joe Stevens is the new Parks & Recreation Director. Parks & Recreation Director Stevens expressed leis honor at serving the City of Louisville and working with the City Council and Staff. • A Public Works memo will be provided to the City Council, which will summarize the design features of the proposed State Highway 42 & South Boulder Road intersection improvements. • The Citizen Survey is due back to the City by Thursday, July 3rd. He noted several completed surveys have been received. The results of the survey will be complete in mid-August. • The City will be scaling back on the weed spraying in the City streets to reduce the amount of man-made chemicals into the environment. Minimal spraying will begin July 7tn • CML conference seminars included the use of GIS Systems for utility systems. The 2009 Budget would include a GIS software purchase. REGULAR BUSINESS
