City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />July 1, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 11 <br />MAY -JUNE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE <br />Becky Hogan, EDge Consulting <br />Becky Hogan, EDge Consulting, 56 Steele Street, Denver, CO updated Council <br />on May and June's economic development in Louisville. She reported on an <br />historic preservation/new school project in Israel. She thanked John Sackett, <br />CEO of Avista Hospital for hosting the first corporate forum. She announced two <br />new Business Assistance Packages will be presented to Council on July 15tH <br />She thanked the City of Littleton for the tour of their transit facility and noted the <br />work commute trends are changing as a result of the increase in fuel costs. She <br />reported Business Retention and DE;velopment (BRaD) Commission will be <br />reviewing their current budget, planning for the 2009 budget process, and <br />preparing language for the Comprehensive Plan. She noted ConocoPhillips was <br />awarded the 2007 "Deal of the Year" award. <br />ORDINANCE No. 1537, SERIES 2008 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CERTAIN SECTIONS OF TITLE: 10 AND TITLE 17 OF THE LOUISVILLE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO REVISE THE CITY'S REGULATIONS CONCERNING <br />THE PARKING, STORAGE AND USE OF MOTOR VEHICLES, <br />RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, TRAILERS, DUMPSTERS, ROLL-OFFS AND <br />PORTABLE STORAGE UNITS. - 2"d Reading -Public Hearing <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City AttornE:y introduction. <br />City Attorney Sam Light read Ordinance No. 1537, Series 2008. <br />Mayor Sisk asked if the public hearing should be reopened. City Attorney Light <br />stated the public hearing need not be reopened, but the public may comment. <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff preseintation. <br />Planning Director Paul Wood explained the City Council, at its regular meeting, <br />on June 17, 2008 conducted a public hearing on Ordinance No. 1537, Series <br />2008. The City Council approved a motion to defer the vote on the Ordinance to <br />July 1, 2008 for the purpose of incorporating second reading amendments into <br />the ordinance. Two amendments have been incorporated into the Ordinance <br />related to the parking of recreational vehicles and trailers on private property. <br />1) Section 17.20.165 A. 6 has been modified to eliminate a required 5' setback <br />adjacent to a side lot line. A 5' setback is still required adjacent to a rear lot line. <br />This modification has the affect of eliminating any required setback along a side <br />lot line. <br />
