Public Comments: Items not on the Agenda
a. Jean Morgan —Lives near Highway 42 and Pine St in the Miners field area.
i. Three miners cabins will be saved and relocated. One location is 42 and Pine
near the old coal cart already located on the NW corner. She is trying to locate
wheels for the coal cart and a track to put it onto, to restore it. Then she would
like to put a mule statue in front of the coal cart. Jean has talked to the person
who created the John Breaux statue about a mule statue.
VII. Correction and/or Approval of June 2017 meeting minutes : meeting minutes were
unanimously approved as written.
VIII. Treasurer's Report — Gina
a. Summer concert series brought in about $2400 in donations.
i. People felt uncomfortable about carrying several hundred dollars to their car at
the end of the evening. Decided to not count the donations in the open
anymore, and institute more safety protocols.
b. Received City's contributions for the LCC and the checks will be deposited.
i. $10k for LCC
ii. $5k for Art Grant Program
IX. City Council Update — Chris Leh
a. City Manager Search
i. City Council has conducted some Focus groups. Blake went to one, represented
LCC well. Looking for a strong, quiet leader that is a facilitator and coordinator,
not someone who thinks Louisville will be their own project. A report will be
presented on August 29tH
ii. City Council plans to interview probably 5 people near the end of the
year. Interviews will be conducted before the election; vote will be taken after
the election.
X. Summer Concerts recap (Adam)
a. Overall, went really well.
b. Start time was discussed. Several comments were heard from concert attendees about
the concert not lasting long enough. We also started a half hour earlier this year.
