Sneddon/Clark Ownership, 1958-2000
In 1958, Dick and Shirley Bodhaine sold 301 Pine to Robert "Bob" and Margaret
Sneddon. According to some local residents, Bob Sneddon purchased it for his mother,
Olive Clark Sneddon, but she did not move into it right away. It was her father, James
Clark, who built the house, and she had lived in it when she was a young child.
Olive Clark Sneddon (1904-1999) was married to Jim Sneddon (1898-1960), who was
born in Montana to Scottish parents. He worked as a coal miner in the Louisville area for
many years. His leg was broken in a coal mining accident and he shifted to doing
construction work for Public Service. Olive Clark Sneddon worked for the University of
Colorado as a housekeeper. (They lived at 708 Pine for many years, having taken over
ownership of that house from her parents, James Clark and Emma Rockley Clark.)
In 1963, Bob and Margaret Sneddon transferred ownership of 301 Pine to Bob's mother,
Olive Sneddon, which is believed to be around the time that she moved into the house.
She is remembered by many as living in the house in her old age. Several years before
her death in 1999, she transferred ownership by quit claim deed in 1992 to her children,
Bob Sneddon (1934-2006) and Emajane Sneddon Enrietto (1927-2000), to be effective
upon her death.
Henderson/Klein/Oatmeal Investments LLC Ownership,2000-current
After Olive Clark Sneddon died in 1999, Bob Sneddon and the estate of Emajane Enrietto
sold 301 Pine to Chester Henderson, Diane Klein Henderson, and Joshua Lubow. In 2002,
they conveyed ownership to Esther Klein, who was the mother of Diane Henderson.
Esther Fischler Klein was born in the Hague in the Netherlands in 1917 and died in 2005.
Records indicate that following the death of Esther Klein, ownership of 301 Pine went to
her children, Diane Klein Henderson and Donald Klein. He conveyed his ownership in
301 Pine to his sister, Diane, in 2005. In 2006, Diane Klein Henderson conveyed
ownership of the house by quit claim deed to Oatmeal Investments, LLC.
This house was one of the five homes on the 2002 Louisville Holiday Home Tour.
Sources
The preceding research is based on a review of relevant and availableonlineCounty property records,
census records,oral history interviews,and related resources,and Louisville directories,newspaper
articles, maps, files, obituary records, survey records, and historical photographs from the collection of
the Louisville Historical Museum.
6
