The removal of the City Prosecutor shall require the affirmative vote of a <br />majonty of the entire Council. <br />Chapter 2 16 <br />ELECTIONS <br />Sec. 2 16.010. Regular and special elections <br />Sec. 2.16 020 Elective offices designated — election — term. <br />Sec. 2.16 030 Conduct in accordance with state law. <br />Sec 2 16 040 Wnte-m candidates. <br />Sec. 2.16.050. Canceling of election. <br />Sec. 2.16.060. Recount <br />Sec 2 16 070 Powers of city clerk regarding election. <br />Sec. 2.16.010 — Regular and special elections. <br />A. A regular City election shall be held in November of each odd - <br />numbered year on the date established by the State statutes for the regular <br />elections of statutory cities. <br />B. A special City election, meaning any City election held at a time <br />other than a regular City election, shall be called by a resolution adopted at least <br />sixty (60) days pnor to the election The resolution calking a special election shall <br />describe the purpose of the election. <br />Sec. 2.16.020 — Elective offices designated — election — term. <br />A. There shall be elected at the regular election held every four years, <br />a mayor from the city at large who shall hold office for a term of four years, <br />commencing the first regular meeting of Council following the election <br />B. At each regular election the registered electors of each ward shall <br />elect one city councilmember from each of the wards. Councilmembers' terms <br />shall be staggered within each ward. The councilmembers shall hold their <br />respective offices for a term of four years, commencing the first regular meeting <br />of the council following their election. <br />Sec. 2.16.030 — Conduct in accordance with state law. <br />All elections shall be held and conducted in accordance with the Colorado <br />Municipal Election Code, C.R.S. § 31-10-101 et seq., except that the City may <br />with respect to any election utilize the requirements and procedures of the <br />Uniform Election Code of 1992, articles 1 to 13 of title 1, C.R S , in lieu of the <br />Municipal Election Code when so provided by ordinance or resolution of the City <br />Council All regular and special elections shall be nonpartisan <br />Ordinance No 1753, Senes 2018 <br />Page 14 of 62 <br />
