The card listed an outbuilding as being a garage that was part frame and part brick and
was 10 feet by 32 feet. The brick part was on the south side and the attached frame part
was on the north side. No construction date was given. Only the brick part remains
today.
The County website today lists the year of construction as being 1925. However, on the
County Assessor card completed in 1965, there is a question mark written in the space
for the "actual" year and, in the space for the "adjusted" year of construction, the date
of 1925 is given. This indicates that the County is currently using a date that was not
intended to be stated as the "actual" year of construction. Evidence shows that the
house was likely constructed before 1909, as the house footprint appears on the 1909
Drumm's Wall Map of Louisville as being in the correct location on Spruce next to the
Goodhue Ditch. Also, George Brimble and Elizabeth Brimble owned the property by
1907 and were listed in the 1910 census records as living in the right location for it to be
that house. A reasonable date of construction for this property based on all of the
evidence would be circa 1908.
The property in 1965, when the Assessor's card was completed, was made up of 10
acres. The following is the ground layout of the house and outbuilding as shown on the
card:
01
- 1Q 4 7' lirt
.: 4'x...
0011r-G-PCAH iKiIcet
S lr6•c ee.
