GATCH: I do.

MORRIS:

GATCH:

MORRIS:

GATCH:

MORRIS:

Market Service Associates, Inc. was hired by the Outback Steakhouse of Louisville
to circulate a petition in regard to a Hotel & Restaurant Liquor License. The
petition circulation was conducted under the control of Market Services Associates.

Four of Market Service Associates, Inc.'s circulators canvassed residents door-to-
door closest to the proposed outlet and in representative sections of the
neighborhood designated by the Licensing Authority. Two circulators canvassed
business owners or managers closest to the proposed outlet. A notarized affidavit
signed by the circulator is attached to each petition (see attached results). The
summary of the petition signatures are:

signatures supporting issuance:
residents 216
business owners or managers 14

signatures opposing issuance:
residents
business owners or managers

37
0

total number of signatures

267

Is 51.4% stating that there are sufficient numbers of outlets typical in other surveys
that you have done in the past?

It is. I think it is hard for people to tell you why they are opposed to any
application. Very often they will say something in the general area of that there are
just too many places selling alcohol. We never take it as meaning they think there
are too many white table clothed steakhouses in this particular case. I don't think
that was what anyone was saying. It tends to be a general - "gee we've heard about
drunken driving or we've heard about kids getting killed or we've heard about some
of the things that can happen because of alcohol and there are just too many places
who serve alcohol." They tend not to discriminate between the convenience stores
selling 3.2% beer, a liquor store selling package liquor, or the particular client that
we are working for.

You don't find those numbers higher for a liquor store type use?

They tend to be the highest for 3.2% beer application and convenience stores. They
tend to be lowest in my experience for sit down restaurant.

Do any members of the Authority have any additional questions?

NONE.

4
