Copies of the
application have been provided to each Authority member. The application is complete, and fingerprint
reports are already on file with the state. Public notice of this hearing has been posted and published in
accordance with state law. The Secretary was not aware of any reason that would require the Authority
to deny the application.

The Authority previously set the boundaries of the neighborhood for the license as the current boundaries
of the City of Louisville. Chairperson Jeffers asked if anyone present objected to the boundaries of the
neighborhood being the current boundaries of the City of Louisville. Being none, the Authority
proceeded with the public hearing.

Attorney Light read a letter from Dianne Ray, Finance Director for the City of Louisville, into the record.
This letter addressed a sales tax issue with the Taj Mahal HI establishment, and asked that approval of the
liquor license be contingent on the sales tax issue being resolved.

The applicant, Zuned Ahmed Kahn, identified himself, was sworn in, and was asked to make a
presentation.

Mr. Kahn stated his customers have expressed a desire to have alcoholic beverages with their meals,
therefore it is very important for his restaurant to have a liquor license.

Chairperson Jeffers asked the Authority members if they have any questions of the applicant.

Lipton asked the applicant, if in any of the liquor establishment he has worked, had he and his staff
attended liquor training and would his staff at the Taj Mahal IH be attending liquor training.

Mr. Kahn stated he had worked in other liquor establishments where he and his staff attended liquor
training. He also stated that he will be sending the stafffrom the Taj Mahal III to training.

Chairperson Jeffers asked if there were any interested party in the audience who wished to speak in favor
of the application.

2
