Laura: Recycle Colorado is hosting a meeting Monday Feb 24th to <br />discuss several bills they are sponsoring in 2020. This is a full day <br />event with joining a legislative session and a social event with <br />representatives afterwards. <br />i. Composting closed loop in Colorado. <br />ii. End market for recyclables. <br />iii. Senate bill 20-010 <br />B. Tiffany: <br />i. Plastic lobby March 5th or 6th at the Capital in Denver <br />iii. Tiffany is planning Native grass planting for kids during Earth <br />week. More details to come. <br />C. Allison: <br />i. The Council wants 3-5 priorities from the Sustainability Action <br />Plan (SAP) that Council should focus on. <br />ii. The Council also wants ‘weighted priorities’ overviewed in the <br />SAP. LSAB discussed using this language and working it into <br />the plan. It may be best served in an ancillary attachment. TBD <br />as the update process continues. <br />iii. Herbicide use in the city is on the City’s work plan. Input from <br />LSAB would be influential in potential program updates. The <br />addition of a goal in the ‘Ecological Health’ section of the SAP <br />will support moving toward discontinued use of herbicides of <br />public and environmental health concern.
