APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER- 1997 STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT <br /> (DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT) <br />APPROVAL OF CITY OF LOUISVILLE 1998 GOALS <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />John Buri, 186 West Monarch Court, Louisville, Colorado, President of the Centennial Valley Tennis <br />Association, encouraged Council to approve the Parks & Recreation Department's request for lights <br />at the Recreation Center courts. They have doubled the number of league teams that are playing in <br />the evenings. They are not able to start their matches until 6:30 p.m. and it is beginning to get darker <br />sooner. There is also a real increase in the use of the tennis courts. The lights would be on a timer, <br />so they would not be on all night. They are circulating a petition the adjacent owners to the <br />Recreation Center site. <br /> <br />Sisk suggested they turn in the petition as soon as possible. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS <br /> NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mayer had asked the Finance Director to look into the possibility of the Louisville Housing Authority <br />selling bonds which would have a much lower interest rate. He wondered if the Finance Committee <br />had taken that up. <br /> <br />Sisk stated that they had discussed this yesterday at the Finance Committee meeting. Further <br />discussions will be held at this afiernoon's Housing Authority meeting. They would also be <br />discussing Louisville being a more direct voice in the operation of the Housing Authority. <br /> <br />Sisk reported that he had attended the Senior Advisory Board meeting this afternoon and they <br />discussed the fact that the Lydia Morgan complex is not completely full of Louisville residents. He <br />wanted priority given to Louisville residents. The Grand Opening will be September 4. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. $7, SERIES 1997 - SUBMITTING A BALLOT ISSUE TO A VOTE OF <br />THE REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE AT THE <br />COORDINATED ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 4, 1997 <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, stated that the ballot question would ask the voters to approve the <br />proposed intergovernmental agreement between the City of Louisville and the Town of Superior <br />including a request to "de-Bruce" the sales tax revenues the City would receive from Superior <br />pursuant to the IGA. The agreement addresses disconnection, annexation, and the interchange at <br />McCaslin Boulevard. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
