City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 16, 2020 <br />Page 3 of 13 <br />Everyone is now under the Safer at Home and in the Great Outdoors regulations and we <br />hope to move soon to the Protect your Neighbors Phase. If the above three items are met <br />we can move to the next phase. <br />Zayach noted that there is a surge expected in late summer and into the fall. Planning is <br />happening to address school in the fall. He stated social distancing, wearing a mask, and <br />washing hands frequently are all key at this point. <br />Zayach reviewed the statistics for Boulder County to date. He highlighted early outbreaks <br />in long term care facilities, how it impacts older populations, the current outbreak, <br />hospitalization rates, and the need for social distancing and mask wearing to keep <br />transmission rates down. <br />Mayor Stolzmann asked if the County will be extending its mask ordinance beyond the <br />end of the month. Zayach stated no decision has been made yet. <br />Mayor Stolzmann asked if BCPH will be in a position to purchase N95 masks for all <br />County residents. Zayach stated the County does not have the ability or funding to do <br />that. <br />Councilmember Brown asked how the City can prepare for another wave. Zayach stated <br />consistent messaging on the safety guidelines are key issues. <br />Councilmember Dickinson asked how can we best avoid another outbreak. Zayach stated <br />contract tracing is key so cases can be traced and people quarantined. <br />Public Comments <br />Sherry Sommer, 910 South Palisade Court, asked if it helps if residents participate in <br />studies and are there some that we could volunteer for. Zayach stated he does not have <br />enough information to answer that. <br />REVIEW OF MATTERS RELATED TO THE LOUISVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Mayor Stolzmann stated the Louisville Community is very inspirational putting out positive <br />images and messages around town these past few weeks. She stated we have to live up <br />to the expectations of our community members and noted this is a chance to learn about <br />the Police Department today and what our plans are for the future. Tonight will be a <br />chance for the public to give their comments and ideas for change as well. <br />Chief Dave Hayes stated this will be a review of the critical policies and procedures of the <br />Department noting The Louisville Police Department is committed to providing law <br />enforcement services to the community with due regard for the racial, cultural, or other <br />differences of those served. It is the policy of this Department to provide law enforcement <br />
