Business Retention and Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />July 6, 2020 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />The Committee also decided to delay a decision on conducting a Business Forum, <br />which could either be held virtually later in 2020 or hope for an in -person <br />opportunity in 2021. <br />3. Discussion- Ideas for Business Support During Re -opening and Recovery: <br />Director Pierce shared a proposal for a Recovery & Improvement Program that is <br />under development to support businesses during re -opening and recovery. The <br />Committee was supportive of the program, and it was suggested members could <br />assist by coaching businesses on projects or applications. BRaD can also assist in <br />making sure business owners are aware of the opportunity. It is anticipated the <br />proposal will go to City Council in August. <br />VII. COMMITTEE UPDATES: BRaD's 2020 Work Plan was briefly reviewed, including <br />notes about which projects and committee topics had been impacted by the <br />pandemic and re -prioritization of work. <br />VIII. REPORTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS: The Committee briefly discussed the <br />Main Street closure and the Outdoor Dining program. <br />IX. ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING: The next BRaD meeting is scheduled for August 3, <br />2020 at 8:00 AM; this will be a virtual meeting. <br />X. ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Oberholzer moved to adjourn the meeting; Ms. Butterworth <br />seconded the motion. Motion passed and meeting adjourned at 9:37 AM. <br />
