Revitalization Commission
Minutes
November 10, 2020
Rob Zuccaro said Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) approved 4
interpretive signs around town. The one at the underpass was approved using
HPC funds. Council member Lipton said the Superior signs are very large and
expensive. He agrees with Commissioner Adler about parking and thinks
reactivating downtown quickly is a good idea over the next 6-9 months.
Director Zuccaro said there is a monument sign at 104th and Empire if anyone
would like to look at it. He shared his screen to show the sign.
Commissioner Gambale said Longmont signage is very good and is color
coded. Director Pierce said the current focus is on implementing a plan that has
already been agreed to and adopted. If we start from scratch, there will have to
be a lot of community input.
Commissioner Bradfield said we should look at Economic Vitality and
integrating work that has already been done. What can we do to help
businesses be found; perhaps using tent signs temporarily. Wayfinding is very
important. He suggests staying away from branding and redoing work that has
already be done and do short term solutions.
Director Pierce will contact the consultant and get together with Planning and
Public Works and get updated cost estimates. She will then present to Council
that LRC wants to engage in signage project.
• Discussion/Direction — Work Plan
Director Pierce said the work plan has been revised since the last LRC meeting.
She has made all changes and additions including the focus on streetscape and
connectivity. Items with asterisk are included in 2021 budget.
Items for Next Regular Meeting, December 9, 2020
• Resolution 20-05: 2021 LRC Budget Approval
• Work Plan
• 1100 Pine Concept (tentative)
• Perhaps an application for assistance
Commissioners Comments: None.
Adjourn: The meeting adjourned at 8:30 am.
Agenda Packet P. 4
