T 0 :
FROM: RICHARD WXNUSH, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DATE: MARCH 27, 1987 •
SUBJECT: MINOR AMENDMENT TO WESTFIELD II PUD
COUNCIL AND PLANNING COMMISSION
Section 17.28.210 permits the Director of Community Development
to authorize minor changes to already approved Planned Unit
Developments (PUD). Any administrative approval granted under
this section must be transmitted to the Council and Commission
for your information.
On March 20, 1987, I authorized a minor amendment to the
Westfield II PUD. This amendment consists of reducing the
distance between Buildings 7 and Building 11 from approximately
48' to 40'. In granting this change, I relied on the ordinance
which states, "Minor changes in the location, siting and height
of buildings and other structures ... may be authorized ... if
said changes are required by engineering or other circumstances
not forseen at the time <of final approval>."
Specifically,
1. The actual buildings on the PUD were not finally
designed or engineered at the time of approval. In
fact, each building was lengthened by 7' to accomodate
final design.
2. Rights -of -way and drainage were engineered subsequent
to final approval and minor changes were made.
3. The PUD itself states: "Building configurations are
conceptual only. Configurations can be varied to
provide a variety of elevations."
4. This amendment does not affect density or the outline
development plan.
1
